Hello,
I want to begin by thanking you for registering for our Lung Cancer Awareness Walk. As you may already be aware of, rain is expected on Saturday. Because of this, we will be changing the LCA event from a walk to a lunch. The lunch will take place at 183 Rector St. where the program will begin at 11 AM. As a participant, you should arrive between 10-10:30 AM for check in/registration. The event is still a free event (although donations will gladly be accepted).

ABOUT THE LCA EVENTS 2015:Our Lung Cancer Awareness Events will be the first to occur in the City of Perth Amboy. We have made the decision to host the event after losing one of our board members suddenly from lung cancer. After conducting some research, it came to our attention that lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both genders in the USA and it is the leading cause of cancer deaths; Lung cancer kills more people than prostate, breast, and colon cancer combined. With the sudden increase of children using cigarettes, hookahs (1 puff= 200 cigarette puffs), vapes, etc., we knew something had to be done. Also, there are a lot of misconceptions about this type of cancer that needs to be corrected.
We will begin with a Flag Raising at 10 a.m. at City Hall Circle in Perth Amboy (the first to be done nationwide). Proceeding will be a conference from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at the RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA. There will be representatives from the American Lung Association, Lung Force, and Raritan Bay Medical Center (just to name a few) speaking at the conference. The conference will be filmed and broadcasted on our local channel and will be bilingual (spanish and english).
